Easy
in this world
David Brown / George Smith
So, if I had a bar
I'd have one by the river
and if there was no river
I'd dig my own canal
and all the passing sailors
would hear the music playing
they'd stop and shed a tear
and that would keep the water high
I don’t sit easy in this world
but when I lie with you
And if I had high water
I'd skim stones from my window
and if there was no window
I'd build myself a hole
and I'd make shiny pebbles
by polishing the rubble
and I'd get high on water
so I wouldn't need the bar
And after spinning stones
I'd sit and watch the swallows
and if there were no swallows
I'd call the Magpies Swifts
and as they stole the money
from all the sailor's pockets
I'd feel the sun and swallow
high water from the bar |
