Raised by Wolves
David Brown & Dave Lewis
I saw an Elvis shrine in an old people’s home
I can tell you – I was all shook up
There are so many things that I still don’t know
In the gutter trying to look up
Our grains in aeroplanes
The grey of mega chains
Making all our cities just the same
Boom without the room
UK monsoon in June
So go the Dodos of today
Some days I feel just like I was raised
By wolves in a cave
Way up in the Arctic Circle
It would go some way to explain
This crazy insane
Often-anarchic fur ball
Little blue planet getting bluer all the time
The teardrops fall - the oceans rise
Decline’s the only thing that’s not in decline
We look with fear towards the skies
Raging poverty
Inequality
Still doing war and war’s still hell
Reality TV
Cult of celebrity
We’ve been pissing in the wishing well
Caught in a photo with some folks I don’t know
Forever looking like I don’t belong
Everyone can hum some humdrum theme from a show
I sing a John Hiatt song
Skin that’s tissue thin
Devil twin within
Feasting on the fabric of the host
Must attempt a blog
Some kind of dialogue
Unify the sides before I’m toast
